Police Confirm Two Indonesian Navy Personnel Involved In Shooting Incident At Rest Area KM45 Tangerang-Merak Toll Road

TANGERANG - Police confirmed that two members of the Indonesian Navy had been arrested in connection with the shooting case at the KM45 Tangerang-Merak toll road rest area. However, both were handed over to the Naval Military Police Center (Puspomal).

Head of Public Relations of the Tangerang Police, Ipda Purbawa, said that his party was coordinating with the TNI to conduct an investigation regarding the shooting.

"Two more are suspected TNI personnel, we are coordinating with Puspom who carried out the investigation process," Purbawa said when confirmed, Sunday, January 5.

On the other hand, his party has also arrested two perpetrators for their involvement in the shooting and embezzlement of Ilyas Abdurahman's Brio (48) car. The two people had the initials I and AS alias Ajat Supriatna.

He explained that during the shooting incident I was not at the scene. However, he was the one who played a role in embezzling the car with Ajat.

"Indeed, he was not in the (shooting) incident, but I was arrested from the results of tracing and development," he explained.

Currently, both of them have been taken to the Tangerang Police. The goal is for further investigation.

Previously there was a shooting that resulted in the death of a man named Ilyas Abdurahman (48) after being shot by the Rest Area KM 45 Tangerang-Merak Toll Road, Thursday, January 2.

In addition, there was another victim with the initials Ramli (59) who was allegedly shot in the back. However, it can still be saved, now treatment is still being carried out.

The Head of Criminal Investigation Unit of the Tangerang Police, Kompol Arief, said the shooting was allegedly based on car embezzlement, in which the perpetrator was suspected of carrying the victim's car. Then the victim tried to track the car.

Furthermore, the victim and the perpetrator had a chase until it ended up at the rest area of Km 45 Tangerang-Merak Toll Road. Then, that's when the shooting was carried out to kill the victim.

He added, from the results of the crime scene, the police found evidence in the form of five 9 mm bullet casings and an orange Brio car.

The perpetrator allegedly used GPS to decide on the traces of the vehicle in Pandeglang. After tracking and chasing, the witness found his family's orange Brio car in front of Indomaret rest area KM 45. When the car was intercepted, the perpetrator suddenly shot brutally and injured two victims," he said.
