Bogor Social Service Office Waiting For Jokowi's Promise To Disburse BLT Cooking Oil Rp300 Thousand

BOGOR - The Social Service of Bogor City, West Java is still waiting for directions regarding the distribution of direct cash assistance (BLT) for cooking oil subsidies of Rp. 300,000 for underprivileged residents. BLT as promised by President Jokowi is given for the next three months to be paid in early April 2022.

Head of the Division for the Poor and Social Security for the Bogor City Social Service, Okto Muhamad Ikhsan, said that his party had not yet received an official letter from the BLT distribution plan and would soon confirm the central government.

"That's right, President Jokowi ordered social media, but the City and Regency Social Services have not received an official letter, they are still waiting," said Okto as quoted by Antara, Monday, April 4.

Okto said that the categories of recipients of assistance conveyed by President Jokowi were residents who were included in the status of the Family Hope Program (PKH), Non-Cash Food Assistance (BPNT) and street vendors (PKL).

The Social Service only lists 30,199 layoff recipients and 60,793 BPNT recipients. This number is still the same as the 2022 data.

Meanwhile, the data for street vendors is still in the collection of the Department of Cooperatives, MSMEs, Industry and Trade (DiskopUMKMdagin) Bogor City.

Okto said that after receiving an official letter from the central government, the Social Service Office immediately conveyed the distribution method that could be accessed by residents. "So we don't know how to distribute it yet," he said.

Previously, President Jokowi announced that the government would distribute BLT cooking oil of Rp. 300,000 to 20.5 million families and 2.5 million street vendors.

"The assistance will be given to 20.5 million families who are included in the list of Non-Cash Food Assistance, BPNT and the Family Hope Program, PKH, as well as 2.5 million street vendors selling fried food," the President said.

President Jokowi said this was done because the price of cooking oil rose quite high as a result of the surge in palm oil prices in the international market.
