Attention! PTM 100 Percent Don't Think All Students Must Enter Class

JAKARTA - An epidemiologist from Griffith University, Dicky Budiman, explained that 100 percent Face-to-face Learning (PTM) should not be interpreted as a full class.

According to Dicky, the optimization of PTM should be accelerated if the situation improves. But don't let the 100 percent meaning be a full class because there are still vulnerabilities that lurk.

PTM certainly must be optimized and accelerated if the situation slopes or improves. According to him, this is a very basic principle in controlling the pandemic.

"Because talking about 100 percent should not be interpreted as a full class. This is what is still relatively vulnerable at this time with various new waves of COVID-19," said Dicky, Monday, April 4.

According to Dicky, the current vulnerability is the result of the Omicron variant of COVID-19 with a sloping BA1 sub variant. Currently there is a newer one, namely BA2 with many cases of transmission occurring at his residence.

"In Indonesia today, public service workers who were previously protected from the Alfa, Delta, Omicron BA1 variants, are not now, because schools are opened and infected by their children. So this must be understood properly," said Dicky as quoted by Antara.

Therefore, said Dicky, mitigation is important to avoid consequences that are not caused by the 100 percent PTM policy. Furthermore, various efforts need to be made to ensure that students and school staff do not have a high risk of contracting COVID-19, such as sharing study time in one class.

"So it's not a full class, but there are still restrictions so it's rotated in the morning or afternoon or divided into two classes, how to do it, the strategy is adjusted to local abilities and situations," he said.

Then don't forget vaccinations for vulnerable students and parents over the age of 50.

Ministerial Decrees signed by the Coordinating Ministry for Maritime Affairs and Investments (Kemenko Marves), Kemendikbudristek, Ministry of Home Affairs (Kemendagri), Ministry of Health (Kemenkes) and Ministry of Religion (Kemenag), one of which regulates schools in Level 1 and Level 2 PPKM areas. holding PTM with 100 percent capacity.

With a note, the achievement of vaccination of educators and education personnel is above 80 percent and the achievement of dose 2 vaccination in the elderly is above 50 percent. If the vaccination achievement is below that, then the school applies the 50 percent PTM.
