The National Police Headquarters Transfers Edy Mulyadi's Detention Dossier To The Central Jakarta Prosecutor's Office

JAKARTA – Under strict surveillance from a member of the Cyber Criminal Investigation Unit at the National Police Headquarters, Edy Mulyadi, the man who called the new capital city a place for genies to dispose of children, came to the Central Jakarta District Attorney's Office, Thursday, March 31.

From VOI monitoring at the location, Edy Mulyadi rode a black Kijang Innova car and sat in the back seat. Edy was under tight guard when he got out of the car and was about to enter the Central Jakarta District Attorney's office.

Meanwhile, when asked by the media crew, Edy hoped to be able to breathe free air again.

"Hopefully they are free, yes," said Edy Mulyadi to VOI when he arrived at the Central Jakarta District Attorney's Office, Kemayoran, Thursday, March 31, afternoon.

Edy was also seen greeting several Central Jakarta District Attorney officers who were at the location. Edy then entered the Phase II Room of the Central Jakarta District Attorney.

Djudju Purwantoro, Edy Mulyadi's attorney, said today's agenda was the stage of transferring files from the National Police Headquarters to the Central Jakarta District Attorney's Office.

"There is a transfer of files and their detainees from the investigators at the National Police Headquarters to the prosecutors' investigators. (because) Today is the last day Mr. Edy's detention at the Police Headquarters is required. Today it is mandatory to transfer files," said Djudju.

Meanwhile, regarding Edy Mulyadi's free wish, Djudju confirmed that his client had said from the start that the accusation was legally weak.

"Expert witnesses, we are preparing three (witness) experts," he said.

Previously, the Attorney General's Office stated that the case file for the alleged crime of hate speech against the suspect Edy Mulyadi was declared complete in a formal and material manner (P-21).

Head of the Attorney General's Center for Legal Information, Leonard Eben Ezer Simanjuntak, said that the file was declared complete after research was carried out by the Research Prosecutor (P.16) at the Directorate of Crimes Against State Security, Public Order and Other General Crimes (Kamnegtibum and TPUL) Deputy Attorney General for Action. General Crimes (Jampidum).

Leonard said that the suspect Edy Mulyadi was suspected of violating Article 45A paragraph (2) in conjunction with Article 28 paragraph (2) of Law Number 19 of 2016 concerning Amendments to Law Number 11 of 2008 concerning Information and Electronic Transactions and/or Article 14 paragraph ( 1) and (2) and/or Article 15 of Law Number 1 of 1946 concerning Criminal Law Regulations and/or Article 156 of the Criminal Code.
