JAKARTA - The police managed to arrest a dumpling maker named Kusni who sexually abused a boy with the initial Z (6) in Jagakarsa, South Jakarta some time ago.

South Jakarta Metro Police Chief, Commissioner Budhi Herdi Susianto, said Kusni was arrested in the Bekasi area, West Java, Tuesday, March 29, evening.

"The arrests last night, (Wednesday) March 29 in the Bekasi area", Budhi told reporters at the South Jakarta Metro Police.

Budhi said the incident took place in January 2022 in the Jagakarsa area, South Jakarta. This incident began when the perpetrator borrowed a cellphone from the victim. From here, the perpetrator began to launch an act of molestation on the victim.

"When the victim was busy playing on the cellphone, the perpetrator approached the victim by striking the victim's head, and finally the suspect inserted his finger into the child's genitals", he said.

After the incident, the victim reported to her parents the sexual abuse she experienced. Knowing this, the victim's parents were furious and came to Kusni and wanted to vent her anger.

"Threatened or beaten by the victim's parents, then the perpetrator fled. So the victim's parents report to the Satreskrim (South Jakarta Metro Police)", he said.

After receiving the report, the Police investigated the case. Kusni managed to escape until he was finally arrested in Bekasi, West Java.

For his actions, the perpetrators of Article 76 of 2016 KUHP concerning child protection are threatened with a maximum sentence of 15 years in prison.

Previously, it was reported that the Head of the Women's and Children's Service Unit, South Jakarta Police's Criminal Investigation Unit, Commissioner Nunu Supadmi, revealed the reason Kusni was difficult to catch. According to him, Kusni often moves from place to place. This makes it difficult for his party to catch the dumpling maker.

"The perpetrator is always moving from place to place, we have visited the house of the perpetrator's parents, the perpetrator's family, the hangout place for the perpetrator, but the perpetrator is no longer in that location", said Nunu when met at the South Jakarta Metro Police, Wednesday, March 16.

Therefore, Nunu also asked the public to immediately report to the nearest police if they saw the perpetrator.

"If people find the person, they can immediately contact the nearest police station", he said.
