JAKARTA - Investigators from the Criminal Investigation Unit of the National Police have named Saifudin Ibrahim as a suspect in the alleged blasphemy case. The determination of the suspect follows his request to delete 300 verses of the Koran which are considered the cause of radicalism.

"Yes, he has been named a suspect," said the Head of the Public Relations Division of the National Police, Inspector General Dedi Prasetyo, to VOI, Wednesday, March 30.

The determination of the suspect is based on the results of a case carried out by the Directorate of Cyber Crime, the Criminal Investigation Department of the Indonesian National Police, on March 28. Investigators believe that Saifuddin Ibrahim's statement violated the rules regarding blasphemy.
