SEMARANG - PT KAI has closed the antigen swab test service at five stations in Daop 4 Semarang, following the abolition of the test requirement to travel by train.

Public Relations Manager of PT KAI Daop 4 Semarang Krisbiyantoro said the closure of the service was carried out due to the lack of prospective passengers who requested antigen tests.

The closed antigen test services included Semarang Poncol, Ngrombo, Pemalang, Cepu and Weleri stations.

"After the Minister of Transportation Decree Number 25 of 2022, only about 15 to 30 people are served per day," he said, quoted by Antara, Tuesday, March 29.

Whereas previously, he continued, the antigen test service served around 200 to 600 people per day.

Meanwhile, to help prospective passengers who still need antigen test services because they do not meet the vaccination requirements, there are clinics, health centers, and other health facilities located around the five stations.

There are also stations that are still opening antigen test services for prospective passengers, leaving Semarang Tawang, Tegal, and Pekalongan stations.

He added that KAI ensures the implementation of health protocols in every train journey. And prospective passengers who do not meet the requirements will still not be allowed to travel by train.
