WARSAW - The President of the United States (US), Joe Biden, is scheduled to visit his military base in Poland to meet and directly encourage all US military forces serving there.

During his visit, Biden is also said to be delivering his speech, which originally contained an invitation to the whole world to unite against Russia's invasion of Ukraine.

"The whole free world will definitely oppose the invasion that they (Russia) have carried out so far," Biden said, as reported by Antara, Saturday, March 26.

Not only that, Biden also emphasized that unity among the world's largest economies can be used as a weapon to stop the arbitrary behavior of Russian President, Vladimir Putin.

After three days of attending meetings with allies in the G7, the Council of Europe and NATO, and visiting US troops in Poland, Biden will next meet Polish President Andrzej Duda.

His call to fight Putin's arbitrariness, according to Biden, is in line with his campaign promise to restore democracy in his country and at the same time unite democracies against autocrats, including Putin and Chinese President Xi Jinping.

It is believed by many that Russia's invasion of Ukraine will position the US public to comply with Biden's promise, and even further, it has the potential to provoke a new Cold War opportunity, exactly three decades after the collapse of the Soviet Union.

"Biden will deliver a speech about the joint efforts of a free world to support the Ukrainian people, hold Russia accountable for its brutal war, and fight for a future based on democratic principles," the White House said in a statement.

The speech will be delivered in Warsaw, Poland, which incidentally had been under Soviet influence for four decades and was a member of the Warsaw Pact defense alliance.

On the contrary, Poland is now the largest former communist country that is a member of the European Union (EU) and NATO, the defense alliance formed to counterbalance the Soviet Union.

The rise of far-right groups in Poland in recent years has sparked conflict with the EU and Washington, but the Russian threat on its borders has pulled the country closer to the West.
