So Attorney Bambang Trihatmodjo Sues Sri Mulyani, Busyro: This Case Is Not Corruption Category

JAKARTA - Former Deputy Chairman of the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK), Busyro Muqoddas confirmed that he became a team of lawyers for the son of former President Soeharto, Bambang Trihatmodjo, who sued the Minister of Finance (Menkeu) Sri Mulyani.

Bambang challenged the Minister of Finance's decision regarding the extension of the prevention of traveling abroad in the context of managing state receivables.

"It is true (being a team of lawyers) is suing the government, in this case the Minister of Finance, Bu Sri Mulyani, because Bambang Trihatmodjo was given a decision by the minister to block his passport from abroad," said Busyro to VOI, Jakarta, Saturday, September 26.

Busyro said he wanted to become a team of lawyers because this case was not a corruption or human rights violation. Because, before deciding to defend Bambang Trihatmodjo in this case, he had already studied the files.

"After we have learned, this case is not in the category of allegations of corruption or corruption that does not exist at all, nor is it a case, for example, that human rights violations do not exist at all, it is not possible for individual human rights violations, so clearly it is not a corruption case," said Busyro.

Then, this case is an old case. Cases that have never been disputed in the previous government, or in the post-Suharto government. "In previous presidency eras, the issue was never raised, since President Megawati, Gusdur, SBY, Habibie, were questioned just yesterday," he said.

However, he could not specify what steps will be taken in the trial. He asked all parties to be patient until this case is tried.

"What is clear is that what is currently running in the PTUN is to let the court decide. If corruption does not go to the PTUN, this means merely administration," he said.

Meanwhile, Bambang challenged the Minister of Finance's decision regarding the extension of the prevention of travel abroad in order to manage state receivables.

In his lawsuit, Bambang Trihatmodjo asked PTUN to declare invalid or invalid Decree of the Minister of Finance Number 108 / KM.6 / 2020 dated May 27, 2020 concerning the Stipulation of the Extension of the Prevention of Travel Outside the Territory of the Republic of Indonesia against Bambang Trihatmodjo (Chairman of the Consortium of XIX Sea Games Organizing Partners in 1997 ) in the framework of State Receivables Management.

In addition, Bambang Trihatmodjo in his lawsuit asked PTUN to require the defendant to revoke the Minister of Finance Decree Number 108 / KM.6 / 2020 dated May 27, 2020.
