Densus 88 Arrest 16 Terrorists In West Sumatra In Just One Day!

JAKARTA - Anti-terror Detachment 88 arrested 16 suspects around the area of West Sumatra (Sumbar). These terrorists were caught in just one day

"Densus 88 has arrested 16 suspected terrorists in the West Sumatra region," said Karo Penmas of the National Police Public Relations Division, Brigadier General Ahmad Ramadhan, in his statement, Saturday, March 26.

Although the location of the arrests was in West Sumatra, the dozens of terrorist suspects were arrested in different areas. 12 of them were arrested in Dharmasraya District. Then the rest in Tanah Datar Regency.

These suspects were arrested on Friday, March 25, by the Indonesian National Police's owl squad. However, the network of these dozens of terrorists has yet to be confirmed. Until now, they are still being investigated intensively.

"The network has not been informed," said Ramadhan.

Detachment 88 Anti-terror previously arrested five suspected terrorists suspected of being affiliated with the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS). They are said to often spread propaganda content of the terrorist group

The terrorists had the initials MR, HP, MI, RBS, and DK who were members of the Annajiyah Media Cebter. They were arrested at different locations from March 8 to 15.

The spread of propaganda posters aims to spread terror to awaken terrorism sleeper cells.
