BADUNG - President Joko Widodo visited the Garuda Wisnu Kencana (GWK) Cultural Park in Badung district, Bali on Friday, which is planned to be the location for the G20 High-Level Conference (KTT) delegates to have dinner on November 15-16, 2022.

The Head of State was welcomed by Minister of Foreign Affairs Retno Marsudi, President Director of GWK Haryanto Tirtohadiguno, President Commissioner of GWK SN. Suwisma, Director of GWK Erwyanto Tedjakusuma, and President Commissioner of PT Telkomsel Wishnutama Kusubandio.

Furthermore, President Jokowi and his entourage walked to the GWK Cultural Park area to review and listen to the explanations of each related element.

Director-General of Human Settlements at the Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR) Diana Kusumastuti in her statement after the review said that President Jokowi gave a number of directions regarding the plan to make the GWK Cultural Park the location for the G20 Summit dinner.

One of them is related to the expansion of the entrance area and parking lots to facilitate the activities of the delegates.

"The Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR) is tasked with preparing the arena for the entrance, then also at the 'entrance' place it must be made a bit more spacious, wider, so that later it will be easier for the head of state to get down from the 'drop off' to the 'dinner' place, then later after 'dinner' come back again to be picked up again," said Diana, Friday, March 25.

In addition to the GWK Cultural Park, President Jokowi also gave directions to the PUPR Ministry to carry out reforestation around the toll roads that will be crossed by the delegates of the G20 Summit.

Diana also said that the PUPR Ministry would plant bougainvillea trees around the toll road median.

"On the right and left, we are planting trees and what is more appropriate maybe the frangipani tree, a characteristic of Bali, as well as sea pandanus trees, and some shrubs so that it can be a beauty too from the toll road," Diana added.

Diana hopes that reforestation activities around toll roads will not only be carried out in Bali, but also for all toll roads in the country.

"This toll road will also become a pilot if for example, the toll road must have greenery," she said.

Accompanying the President in the review were Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs and Investment Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan, Minister of State Secretary Pratikno, Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy Sandiaga Uno, and Governor of Bali Wayan Koster.

After reviewing the GWK Cultural Park, President Jokowi then provided Direct Cash Assistance (BLT) to street vendors and stalls at Alas Kusuma Market, Badung Regency.

The President was seen handing over and talking directly with some of the traders in the market.
