Update On COVID-19 As Of September 25: New Cases Of 4,823, A Record For Three Days In A Row

JAKARTA - The Ministry of Health (Kemenkes) releases the latest additional positive cases of COVID-19 today. A total of 46,133 specimens were examined with the results of 4,823 new positive cases of COVID-19.

The increase in new cases for the past three days has reached a new record. There were 4,636 new cases on September 24 and 4,465 cases on September 23.

"The total accumulation of positive cases since COVID-19 was discovered in Indonesia has reached 266,845 people," the Ministry of Health was quoted as saying, Friday, September 25.

Today's cases increased by 4,343, so that a total of 196,196 people recovered. Then, the confirmed positive cases who died increased by 113 people and a total of 10,218 people.

The province with the most new cases was in DKI Jakarta with 1,171 new cases and a total of 67,902 cases. DKI Jakarta is also the province with the most accumulated cases in Indonesia.

Followed by West Java which has 734 new cases with a total of 20,131 cases. East Kalimantan has 392 new cases and a total of 7,851 cases. Central Java has 331 new cases and a total of 21,004 cases. Then, East Java has 293 new cases and a total of 42,391 cases.

The province with the most cases recovered today belongs to DKI Jakarta with an increase of 1,620 recovered cases. Followed by West Java with an increase of 848 recovered cases, East Java with an increase of 343 recovered cases, and Central Java with an increase of 271 recovered cases.

Then, there is 1 province that reported no new cases today. The province is Maluku.

In addition, the number of specimens that had been examined reached 3,120,947. In details, 3,069,969 specimens were examined using real-time polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) and 50,978 using molecular rapid tests (TCM).

"The number of positive results per number of specimens examined (positivity rate) was 14.3 percent," he wrote.

Finally, the number of people suspected of having contracted COVID-19 or who are currently categorized as suspected cases, was recorded at 112,082 people. Currently, 494 districts / cities out of 34 provinces have cases of COVID-19.
