Immanuel Ebenezer Removed From Commissioner Of A BUMN Subsidiary, Trisakti For Jokowi: Should Focus On Work, Instead Defend Terrorism Defendants

JAKARTA - Minister of State-Owned Enterprises (BUMN) Erick Thohir has removed Immanuel Ebenezer (Noel) from the President Commissioner of PT Mega Elektra, a subsidiary of PT Pupuk Indonesia. The chairman of Trisakti for Jokowi Ancho Hatta supports this step.

"Because Noel should focus on work, not defending terrorism accused Munarman," said Ancho in a written statement received in Jakarta, Thursday, March 23.

Ancho reminded Noel that he had previously stated his loyalty to the policies of the President and the Government, one of which was against all forms of terrorism.

"Indeed, the person concerned should have been fired because he consciously defended a terrorist suspect or the like," he said, as reported by Antara.

He admitted that he was very disappointed with Noel's attitude in defending Munarman. Moreover, Munarman is a terrorism suspect.

"We have no respect for what the person concerned did to relieve the suspect. With the dismissal of the person concerned, it is proof that the action in question is a wrong action," he said.

Previously, Immanuel Bennezer was appointed as President Commissioner of PT Mega Eltra by SOE Minister Erick Thohir on June 12, 2021.

PT Mega Eltra is a member of the state-owned holding company, PT Pupuk Indonesia (Persero). This company is engaged in trading, construction and agency services, to the paint industry.

On Wednesday 23 February, Noel was present as a mitigating witness for Munarman in the case of alleged criminal acts of terrorism at the East Jakarta District Court.

The public prosecutor (JPU) at the East Jakarta District Court (PN) on Wednesday, March 23, rejected the defense of the defendant Munarman and his legal advisor in the case of alleged criminal acts of terrorism.

The former secretary of the Islamic Defenders Front (FPI) was sentenced to 8 years in prison in connection with the alleged criminal act of terrorism.

The Public Prosecutor assessed that Munarman was proven to have carried out malicious conspiracy, preparation, experimentation, or assistance to carry out acts of terrorism.
