A Teacher And Student In Klender Were Rushed To The Hospital After Being Hit By A Lightweight Steel Roof

JAKARTA - Rain with moderate intensity accompanied by strong winds caused a large billboard to collapse and cover the Jalan Pahlawan Revolusi, RW. 03, Klender Village, Duren Sawit District, East Jakarta, Wednesday 23 March.

Head of the East Jakarta Civil Service Police Unit (Kasatpol PP), Budhi Novian, denied that the object that collapsed was not a billboard like the one that went viral on social media. The object is a canopy with a light steel frame material from a furniture store.

"The canopy measuring 8x10 square meters flew after being hit by strong winds. So it's not a billboard," said Budi when contacted by VOI, Wednesday, March 23, afternoon.

After being blown away by the wind, the canopy was then thrown onto the Road of the Hero of the Revolution. The canopy frame also affected two victims, namely, students and teachers who were in the vicinity of the location and suffered injuries.

"The incident occurred at 11.20 a.m. local time, when the weather was thickly cloudy with strong winds. So it blew the canopy belonging to the HN Shop. FURNITURE which fell on the two-wheeled vehicle driver," he said.

Currently, the evacuation process of joint officers from Gulkarmat, Satpol PP, Duren Sawit Police, and residents is still being carried out

"The canopy that flew and fell on Jalan Pahlawan Revolution is still being carried out. The injured victim, another has been identified, he arrived. He has been taken to Premier Hospital, we want to check there," he said.

As of this writing, the identities of the two victims are unknown. Joint officers are also still conducting data collection at the location.
