Ministry Of Home Affairs: Local Wisdom In IKN Becomes The Government's Commitment

JAKARTA - Director of Urban Areas and National Boundaries of the Ministry of Home Affairs (Kemendagri) Thomas Umbu Pati Tena Bolodadi, conveyed local wisdom in the National Capital City (IKN) of the Archipelago remains the government's commitment.

"Regarding the communal aspect, in this case 'local wisdom' or other terms, I think the government will provide aspects of appreciation, protection, and affirmation," he said during the Public Consultation on the Draft Implementing Regulation of Law Number 3 of 2022 concerning IKN monitored from Jakarta, as reported by Antara, Tuesday, March 22.

The government, according to him, appreciates, protects, and affirms the existence of customary law, including those related to the sultanate and other matters concerning local wisdom.

"I think the affirmation has become a commitment in the master plan or the details of the master plan. It's just a matter of how the execution is carried out together, we will monitor it so that the appreciation of the public properties of the sultanate's customary law communities can be well maintained," he said.

In fact, he said, the concept of a smart village will pay attention to the protection of the cultural dimension of the local community.

"We will continue to protect the cultural dimension of the local community," he said.

Regarding territory, according to him, the two districts, seven sub-districts, 18 sub-districts, and 33 villages that currently exist and will be included in the IKN authority for their population status, including other matters will be included in the IKN area.

Meanwhile, aspects of the political impact, such as electoral districts because their territory is included in the IKN, are still under study by the Directorate General of Politics of the General Government of the Ministry of Home Affairs, he explained.
