Bobby Nasution Allocates IDR 50 Billion For Culinary MSMEs In Medan

MEDAN - The Medan City Government, North Sumatra, has allocated a budget of IDR 50 billion for the products of micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) in the culinary field this year.

"The Medan City Government is a 'marketplace' for culinary SMEs. We have allocated Rp50 billion for various culinary products," said Medan Mayor Bobby Nasution, Monday, March 21.

This policy, he continued, is expected to help SMEs in the culinary field to rise up and advance to class, especially in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Bobby Nasution continues to invite and encourage culinary MSME actors to enter the Medan City Government e-Catalog in the provision of food and beverages within the Medan City Government.

The latest data from the Medan City Cooperatives and MSMEs Service states that the number of MSMEs fostered by the Medan City Government is around 27,000 units out of a total of 70,000 recorded units.

"The Medan City Government must be present to help MSME actors affected by the COVID-19 pandemic. The assistance we provide starts with the formation of cooperatives, training, capital and markets for the products they produce," explained Bobby.

The Mayor of Medan said that currently there are a number of MSME actors in the culinary field who have entered the Medan City Government e-Catalog to market their products.

"We have instructed all ranks of OPD in the Medan City Government to take food and drinks from culinary MSME actors who are members of the Medan City Government e-Catalog," said Bobby Nasution.
