COVID-19 Update As Of March 19: New Cases Increase 7,951, Number Of Suspected 12,806

JAKARTA - The Ministry of Health (Kemenkes) released the latest additional positive cases of COVID-19 as of today. Of the 154,657 specimens examined, there were 7,951 additional COVID-19 cases.

"The total accumulated positive cases of COVID-19 found in Indonesia reached 5,956,561 and active cases fell by 16,245 so the total is now 229,734," as quoted from Ministry of Health data, Saturday, March 19.

Today's recovered cases increased by 24,008 people, bringing the total to 5,573,228 recovered people. Then, positive confirmed cases who died increased by 188 cases and totaled 153,599 people.

The province with the most new cases was in West Java with 1,720 cases and a total accumulation of 1,086,668. Followed by DKI Jakarta which has 1,485 cases and a total accumulation of 1,227,168; Central Java has 901 cases with an accumulation of 617,732 cases; and East Java had 470 cases with an accumulation of 569,421 cases.

Meanwhile, the province with the most recovered cases today is West Java with an additional 8,478 recovered cases.

Followed by DKI Jakarta with an increase of 2,583 recovered cases, DI Yogyakarta with an increase of 1,489 recovered cases, and Central Java with an increase of 1,409 recovered cases.

Furthermore, the number of specimens that have been examined using RT-PCR, TCM, and antigens reached 90,243,295.

"Positive results per number of people examined or the positivity rate of people this week was 11.51 percent," he wrote.

The number of people suspected of contracting COVID-19 or who are currently categorized as suspected cases, was recorded at 12,806 people. Currently, 34 provinces have had cases of COVID-19.

Currently, there are 194,559,612 people who have received the first dose of COVID-19 vaccination and 153,649,398 the second dose of vaccination. Then, the third dose of vaccination was 16,096,488. Meanwhile, the target for vaccination in Indonesia is 208,265,720 people.
