JAKARTA - A Czech designer has found a way to raise funds for war-affected Ukrainians. He made a pillow with a portrait of President Volodymyr Zelensky which is said to be a sex symbol for some.

A tired, unshaven looking Volodymyr Zelensky in his trademark green T-shirt, has become the face of Ukraine's resistance to the Russian invasion, gathering his compatriots from his bunker in Kyiv in daily broadcasts on social media.

"A lot of people saw it as a kind of sex symbol, so I got the idea to make a pillow that would make them look like they were actually in their bed," designer Tomas Brinek told Reuters.

Brinek, who runs a satirical Instagram channel called TMBK with more than 540,000 followers and often pokes fun at politicians, said the limited-edition handmade pillows had already been ordered by more than 2,000 pieces and raised 420,000 koruna (approximately Rp. affected by war.

"The idea is a bit of a joke, but there's also a serious side because the profits could be beneficial for Ukraine," Brinek said, adding he planned to add more products because many were interested.

The Czech Republic has sent aid worth tens of millions of dollars to Ukraine and has so far received some 270,000 refugees, mostly women and children, who have fled the war.

Thousands of people have died and more than 3 million have fled to neighboring countries since Moscow launched what it called a "special military operation" in Ukraine on February 24.
