MATARAM - The West Nusa Tenggara Regional Police are investigating allegations of fraudulent ticket sales for the Pertamina Grand Prix of Indonesia or MotoGP 2022 audience through a website.

"Regarding the alleged fraud through this website, of course we will investigate through the cyber function," said Head of Public Relations of the NTB Police, Kombes Artanto in Mataram, as reported by Antara, Friday, March 18.

The investigation will depart from the complaint of a man from Jakarta named Adam Gazali who previously claimed he was a victim of fraud in the purchase of 32 tickets for the 2022 MotoGP spectators.

Adam bought it through a travel agent from Lombok, named Ari. From the transaction, Adam received an email message from Ari in the form of a website link to access reservations for 32 tickets for the 2022 MotoGP spectators.

"The website is 'motogpmandalikatiket.com'," said Adam in confirmation via telephone.

Adam confirmed that he was a victim of fraud after his colleague exchanged e-tickets from the website "motogpmandalikatiket.com" at the redemption counter located at the former Selaparang Airport, Mataram City, Wednesday, March 16.

However, the ticket exchange counter officer stated that the "barcode" of Adam's MotoGP spectator e-ticket was not registered in the system. This was the basis for Adam to file a complaint against Ari who was suspected of committing fraud to the NTB Police.

In his complaint, which is still under the handling of the Integrated Police Service Center (SPKT) of the NTB Police, the problem was asked to be resolved through mediation.

Ari as the suspect was also present at the mediation on Wednesday, March 16. In the agreement, Ari was given a deadline of Thursday, March 17 evening to return the ticket money paid by Adam with a value of Rp. 70 million.

If he does not keep his promise, Ari will be reported to the Directorate of Criminal Investigation for the NTB Police regarding the alleged online fraud.

The latest news, Adam said that Ari had just handed him Rp. 4.3 million of the total loss of Rp. 70 million. The money was handed over, Thursday, March 17.

"So for the report to the Special Crimes Committee, I postponed it first, besides I was still busy taking care of travel packages in Lombok, I saw the handing over of money from Ari as a good faith. So I decided to give him time to pay off the rest," said Adam.

Adam admitted that he had tried independently to buy tickets for the 2022 MotoGP audience through the "motogpmandalikatiket.com" website.

This he did to convince himself of the validity of the website that sells the 2022 MotoGP audience tickets.

"Because I was curious at the time, I tried to buy it myself through the website that Ari sent via email message," he said.

Adam admitted that the website displays the MotoGP audience ticket standings based on the stands zone and complete with prices.

"I bought two tickets, after transferring the money, I got an email message like the one Ari sent. It contains a website link for exchanging e-tickets. The 'barcode' is there," he said.

On the afternoon of Wednesday, March 16, Adam asked his colleague to exchange the e-ticket containing the "barcode" at the counter at the former Selaparang Airport, Mataram City.

"The result is the same, the officer said the 'barcode' was not registered. I checked the website again, it was no longer accessible, it was Wednesday, March 16 afternoon, I checked," he said.
