JAKARTA - The Presidential Staff Office (KSP) ensures that the stock and distribution of cooking oil in the market will always be available so that people do not need to panic.
"People don't panic and don't need to worry. The government ensures that the availability of cooking oil in the market is safely controlled. There is no shortage and even bulk cooking oil has been subsidized to an affordable price," said KSP Main Expert Bustanul Arifin in a written statement in Jakarta, Friday 18 March.
According to Bustanul Arifin, the Ministry of Trade and the Ministry of Industry have also secured the stock and distribution of cooking oil so that it is always available to the public.
KSP again conveyed the government's policy that subsidies have been imposed for bulk cooking oil so that the price charged to the public is Rp. 14,000 per liter.
"Meanwhile, packaged cooking oil without subsidies is widely available in minimarkets, supermarkets or modern markets," said Bustanul Arifin.
The Indonesian National Police (Polri) previously stated that they were ready to oversee the distribution and availability of subsidized cooking oil in the market after the implementation of the highest retail price (HET) for bulk cooking oil of Rp. 14,000 per liter.
"I appeal to all relevant stakeholders, starting from producer companies to CPO (crude palm oil) companies who prepare raw materials and also sellers who distribute them both in modern and traditional markets. so that the stock will be maintained," said National Police Chief Gen. Pol Listyo Sigit Prabowo, March 16, 2022.
Sigit also hopes that in the future there will be no longer the phenomenon of long queues from people who want to get cooking oil on the market.
"Once again, we hope that in the future, with the existing policies, there will be no more queues related to people who need oil because of the scarcity," he said.
The government, through a limited meeting at the Merdeka Palace, Jakarta, Monday (15/3) decided to subsidize bulk cooking oil to become Rp. 14 thousand per liter in the market. Subsidy funds will be taken from the Palm Oil Plantation Fund Management Agency.
Meanwhile, the price for packaged cooking oil, both simple and premium packaging, will be adjusted to the economic value.
