JAKARTA - The National Police Commission (Kompolnas) has confirmed that the decisive and measurable action taken by the Special Detachment 88 Anti-terror Team of the National Police against Doctor Sunardi, a suspect in the alleged crime of terrorism, was in accordance with the procedure.

The Head of the National Police Commissioner, Benny Mamoto, stated that the procedures in question were the National Police Chief Regulation (Perkap) Number 6 of 2019 concerning Criminal Acts, Perkap Number 1 of 2009 concerning the Use of Police Force, and Perkap Number 8 of 2009 concerning the Implementation of Human Rights Principles and Standards in the Implementation of Police Duties. "Based on the testimony of community witnesses, members, and the examination of the suspect's car, it can be concluded that the members arrested the suspect in accordance with the SOP and provisions," said Benny as quoted by Antara in Jakarta, Wednesday, March 16.

Benny said that the National Police Commissioner went to the location of the shooting to investigate the arrest and shooting of Doctor Sunardi, a suspect in the alleged criminal act of terrorism in Sukoharjo Regency, Central Java.

The search was initiated by summoning Densus 88 Anti-terror to describe the case and handling on Monday, March 14.

"Kompolnas, on March 14, 2022, will leave for Solo," said Benny, a former investigator from the National Police Anti-terror Detachment 88.

Arriving in Solo, Central Java, in the evening, continued Benny, Kompolnas together with the police chief and members of the Densus went to the crime scene (TKP) along Jalan Bekonang, Bendosari District, Sukoharjo Regency, to get an explanation of the chronology of events up to the arrest of the suspect and brought to the house. sick.

The search continues on Tuesday, March 15. Kompolnas conducted interviews with six witnesses from residents.

The six witnesses were the driver of the box car that was grazed, the driver of the Innova car that was hit, the driver of the motorbike that was grazed, the owner of the house that was hit in the thigh, and the suspect's neighbor.

"Kompolnas interviewed six members who made the arrests and evacuated suspects to the hospital," he said.

From the results of the search, Kompolnas obtained a complete chronology of the incident from the arrest to the shooting of Doctor Sunardi.

Based on the results of the National Police's investigation, the incident began on Wednesday, March 9 at around 21.00 WIB, the suspect, Doctor Sunardi, emerged from the T-junction of the Ulul Albab Islamic Boarding School, near the Ar-Rohman Mosque. About 200 meters away, the officer stopped the suspect and introduced himself.

"One member said 'we are from the police'," said Benny.

The suspect then reversed his vehicle and bounced to the right, stepped on the gas, and hit the officer.

The officer who was hit had bruises on his right thigh and lacerations. While the other two members chased and climbed into the suspect's car.

About 500 meters the suspect's car was moving. In this incident the members then fired eight times.

The first warning shots were fired once by the members after the suspect hit a motorcyclist. The shot is directed upwards.

A second warning shot was fired upward by the same officer after the suspect hit the second motorbike of a road user.

After hitting a road user's minibus (Innova), officers fired three shots.

"Two shots were fired from the right side of the car, one hit the door that didn't go through, one bullet hit the suspect, and another shot from the roof of the car as a warning," said Benny.

When the shooting occurred, the position of the member was in the back of the car of the suspect, Dr. Sunardi.

Then, after hitting the box car, three shots were fired from the rear (double cabin car). Three bullets hit the suspect.

"A total of four bullets hit the suspect. One bullet hit the right upper back (not penetrated), one bullet hit the wrist (through), one bullet hit the right waist (not penetrated), and one bullet hit the arm (through)," said Benny.

In addition, from the results of the TKP and re-enactment of the direction of the shots, Benny said, it can be concluded that there was no shot in the direction of death (head or heart) so the strong suspicion that it was fatal was when it hit the wall of the gate of a resident's house at high speed because it did not no signs of braking.

This can be seen from the damage to the suspect's front car. The two members that were thrown and their weapons also slipped from their hands indicating that when they hit the wall the speed was high.

"When the suspect's car hit the gate of a resident's house at high speed so that the two members who were on the back of the double cabin car were thrown unconscious," said Benny.

When trying to immobilize it from the side of the door, members had to hang on to when the suspect's car was speeding. The member's shot hit the hand and arm.

Benny added that currently investigators are still waiting for the results of the post-mortem et repertum from the Bhayangkara Hospital in Semarang.

Doctor Sunardi (54), a suspect in the alleged criminal act of terrorism in Sukoharjo Regency, Central Java, is involved in various activities of the terrorist organization Jamaah Islamiah (JI).
