Mayor Of Bogor Decides To Reopen PTM

BOGOR - Bogor Mayor Bima Arya Sugiarto decided to reopen limited face-to-face learning (PTM) at all levels of schools in the area on Monday, March 21, after seeing the trend of positive cases of COVID-19 continuing to decline.

"COVID-19 continues to slow down, we will reopen PTM. Pak Kadisdik we will reopen PTM next week," he said during a coordination meeting with Bogor City Government staff at Heulang Park, Bogor City, reported by Antara, Tuesday, March 15.

This was revealed by Bima Arya after receiving exposure to the spread of the Omicron variant of the COVID-19 from the Head of the Bogor City Health Office, Sri Nowo Retno, who was also present at the meeting.

The spread of the Omicron variant of COVID-19 in Bogor City has passed its peak, after reaching 1,117 positive people for the infectious disease according to daily data in February 2022 and currently continuing to decline to 90 people per day.

Due to this condition, he took the attitude to reopen PTM in the Implementation of Community Activity Restrictions (PPKM) Level 2 while still implementing strict health protocols.

Head of the Bogor City Education Office (Disdik) Hanafi after the meeting said that the limited PTM would be opened with a capacity of 50 percent of students from the total class capacity.

Disdik immediately made socialization letters to schools to prepare supporting facilities for the health protocols needed, such as temperature checks, hand washing stations, appeals for masks, and isolation rooms.

In the limited PTM this time, said Hanafi, there will be something different because grade 1, 2, and 3 students have been allowed to enter school.

This means, he said, all levels of school from elementary, junior high, to high school and vocational school have been able to experience limited time in school again.

Hanafi explained that the opening of PTM in Bogor City was carried out carefully and gradually, although in fact according to the Decree of the Four Ministers Number 2 of 2022, PTM had been able to implement 100 percent.

"We have to consider carefully, so it's not 100 percent straight away," he said.
