Thieves In Bukittinggi Have Prepared Cars, Break Into 980 Zinc Transport Building Shops Worth Rp. 100 Million

BUKITTINGGI - The Criminal Investigation Unit of the Bukittinggi Police, West Sumatra arrested a gang of thieves specializing in building shops. There were three perpetrators, respectively J (32), RN (33) and F (36).

Head of the Bukittinggi Police Criminal Investigation Unit, AKP Adriansyah Rollindo, said that the disclosure of this case was due to the cooperation of the Bukittinggi Police with the assistance of the 50 City Police Criminal Investigation Unit. The three perpetrators were arrested in the Lima Puluh Kota Regency area on Tuesday, March 15 this morning.

"The three perpetrators were detained in the Tanjung Pati area, Fifty Cities Regency, they are from South Solok," he said in Bukittinggi, Antara, Tuesday, March 15 evening.

The investigation into the drain case was based on Police Report number LP/B/01/II/2022/Bukittinggi Police. "The theft occurred last February at the Soekarno Hatta Manggis Ganting Street Distributor Trading Building, with a loss of nearly Rp. 100 million," he said.

In their action, the perpetrators managed to tame 49 pieces of zinc from the Ansa AA brand.

"That's 980 pieces with a loss of approximately Rp. 63 million, the stealing case was handled by the Criminal Investigation Unit of the Bukittinggi Police, and based on a temporary examination at the time of the arrest, apart from being at the Distributor Trading Building store, the perpetrators have also carried out their actions in other building shops," he said.

The Head of Bukittinggi City Police, Kompol Rita Suryanti, added that the presence of the perpetrators, who frequently changed locations, made it necessary for officers to take time to sniff out their whereabouts.

"We appreciate the personnel for the hard work that has been done in uncovering this stealing incident, we know that the perpetrators often move locations to avoid being chased by officers," he said.

He said the evidence that was seized from the suspects was one unit of a black Daihatsu Grand Max pick-up car Nopol BA 8312 XX.

"Then also the equipment they used when they acted in the form of one large iron scissors, two knives, three crowbars and several cell phones," said Kompol Rita.

Rita added that her party is still conducting investigations to find out where similar actions were carried out by this gang.
