SURABAYA - PT Jasamarga Pandaan Malang (JPM) deployed four heavy equipment to accelerate the clearance of landslide material on the Pandaan-Malang toll road section km 78+900 to Malang.

President Director of PT Jasamarga Pandaan Malang (JPM) Netty Renova said that currently two lanes of the Pandaan-Malang Toll Road have been opened by officers since 05.00 WIB, from previously there was only one lane on the right side/fast lane.

"Since this morning, we have opened two lanes, from which previously only opened one lane on Thursday (10/3) at km 78+000 to km 79+000," said Netty as quoted by Antara, Friday, March 11.

Meanwhile, to speed up the process of cleaning up landslides on cliffs, Jasamarga deployed four heavy equipment and seven dam trucks to clean up locations that had been covered by landslides.

"Currently, road users can pass to Surabaya and Malang normally. And we urge you to be careful when driving because the process of handling landslide repairs is still ongoing," he said.

Jasamarga also apologizes for the inconvenience caused by handling landslides and asks road users to remain careful and obey signs, speed limits for driving on toll roads, and monitor road traffic conditions.

Based on field observations, vehicles heading to Malang or Surabaya have passed through km 78+000 to km 79+000 of the Pandaan-Malang Toll Road normally, however, officers are still installing roadblocks on the left side, as a sign to be careful due to avalanche handling activities.

Previously, it was reported that cliffs at km 78+000 to km 79+000 of the Pandaan-Malang Toll Road experienced a landslide after heavy rains flushed the area, Tuesday (8/3).

In addition to landslides, there was also a puddle of water on the left side of the toll road, so traffic engineering and diversion of vehicles from Surabaya and Malang were carried out.

Vehicles from Surabaya were diverted to the Purwodadi toll gate (GT), while those from Malang to Surabaya were asked to leave at GT Lawang.
