Surakarta City Government Ensures The Provision Of Social Assistance Is Not Related To Vaccination

SOLO - The Surakarta City Government, Central Java ensured that the provision of social assistance to people in need was not related to the COVID-19 vaccination following the emergence of information about residents who had not been vaccinated with boosters unable to disburse aid.

Surakarta City Secretary Ahyani said she would check the exact directions from the Central Java Provincial Government.

"If we don't want to take away the rights of the people," he said, quoted by Antara, Thursday, March 10

However, he confirmed that the vaccination achievement in Solo had exceeded the target.

"It could be that (the regulation) only limits those who have not been vaccinated. If we have exceeded it, the vaccine will not be a problem," he said.

Similarly, Deputy Mayor of Surakarta Teguh Prakosa ensured that there was no such policy in the city of Solo.

"If Solo's policy is not like that. To accelerate the achievement of booster vaccination, we will deploy a team of vaccinators to the regions. So they will directly target people at lower levels. If there is such a policy, we cannot implement it," he said.

Meanwhile, the disbursement of COVID-19 social assistance in the city of Solo has so far been running smoothly without any obstacles.

"However, if the SE really comes down from the provincial government, the implementation will be adjusted in the field," he said.
