JAKARTA - Densus 88 Anti-terror was forced to shoot a suspected terrorist with the initials SU during the arrest process in the Sukoharjo area, Central Java. SU is considered a danger to public safety because he had hit another vehicle.

"Then it hit a passing public vehicle," said Karo Penmas, Police Public Relations Division, Brigadier General Ahmad Ramadhan, to reporters, Thursday, March 10.

The alleged terrorist act that endangered the lives of these residents began during the arrest process. SU, who was driving in a double cabin car at that time, was stopped by officers.

However, SU put up a fight. Instead, he pointed his car at a member of Densus 88, as if he was going to hit him.

"Brother SU fought against the officers aggressively by crashing his car into the officer who was stopping the suspect," said Ramadhan.

The suspected terrorist was driving recklessly. The goal was to drop members of Densus 88 who had climbed into the back of the car.

Not only that, SU also hit a passing vehicle around the location. For that reason, the officers decided to give a measured, firm shot.

"Due to the situation that could endanger the lives of the officers and the public, the officers made a forced effort by taking decisive and measurable actions by immobilizing the suspect," said Ramadhan.

As a result, SU suffered gunshot wounds to his upper back and right hip.

With the wound, SU was rushed to the hospital. But, unfortunately his life could not be saved.

"Officers took the suspect to the Bhayangkara Police Hospital in Surakarta for medical treatment. However, the person concerned died while being evacuated," said Ramadhan.
