East Java Deputy Governor Emeil Dardak Observes Landslide Location On Pandaan-Malang Toll Road, Orders Drainage Improvement

SURABAYA - Deputy Governor of East Java Emil Elestianto Dardak inspected the conditions in the landslide area located at KM 78+900 of the Pandaan-Malang toll road section.

"Because of yesterday's landslide, the drainage must be restored. We see that there are heavy equipment here so that the water does not reach the road," he said in Surabaya, quoted by Antara, Wednesday, March 9.

In this review, Emil Dardak monitored the drainage handling and repair process carried out by a joint team from Jasa Marga, the Public Works Department of Highways and other related parties so that water does not enter the road body and interfere with toll road activities.

"Because if we see, this water is also on the side of the Malang-Surabaya lane. So this requires handling because the water also goes to the road," said Emil Dardak.

He explained that four excavators and seven dump trucks were used to speed up the process of transporting landslide materials.

The former Trenggalek Regent appreciated Jasa Marga's quick action in following up on the landslide incident and hoped that the lane could be used again by toll road users.

"We are grateful to Jasa Marga who have handled it very intensively. Hopefully it can recover soon and motorists can use this route," said the husband of Arumi Bachsin.

Meanwhile, the President Director of Jasa Marga Pandaan-Malang Netty Renova in her statement said that currently she is still focusing on cleaning the road for the safety of road users.

"For lane one is still closed because we are still cleaning the material that enters the road. This is to avoid if there is high rainfall there will be further landslides," he said.

Meanwhile, further treatment is still in the process of further evaluation from a team of experts to determine more appropriate treatment.

"We will also conduct a thorough evaluation to ensure a more appropriate treatment," he said.

Previously, the cliffs of the Pandaan Toll Road towards Malang experienced a landslide at KM 78+900 after heavy rains that had flushed the area since Tuesday (8/3) made road access impassable.
