GROBOGAN - The Grobogan BPBD team together with the joint SAR team, until Wednesday (9/3) had not succeeded in finding the two children who drowned and were dragged by the water current to the Tuntang River, Gubug District, Grobogan Regency, Central Java, so the search was paused and will continue the next day. day.

"The drowning of two children playing with their friends occurred on Tuesday (8/3) at 08.00 WIB," said the Head of the Grobogan Regency BPBD Endang Sulistyoningsih as quoted by Antara, Wednesday, March 9.

As for the chronology of the incident, it started when two victims named Erwin (12) and Novita (8) from the same village Gari Village, Wonosari District, Gunung Kidul Regency, Yogyakarta played in the sewer that flows into the Tuntang River in Kemiri Village, Gubug District, Grobogan.

The two victims came to Grobogan with their parents to visit their sick grandmother in Kemiri Village. Taking this opportunity, the victim played and swam with his eight friends.

According to a number of witnesses, the two victims swam while carrying them, then the two victims suddenly drowned. The victim's friends who knew about it screamed for help.

Then local residents who heard the screams, ran and swam to save the two victims who were swept away by the current into the Tuntang River. Because the water current in the Tuntang River was quite strong, the victim could not be saved.

Following this incident, the Grobogan BPBD SAR Team together with the TNI/Polri and volunteers conducted a search for the drowned victims on the same day.

The search on Tuesday (8/3), was carried out by combing around the location of the sinking point using two rubber boats to a suspension bridge 15 kilometers from the crime scene (TKP).

Then at 17.30 WIB the search effort was temporarily suspended due to the safety of the team following heavy rain and strong winds.

While the search on Wednesday (9/3) by deploying four teams has not yet found the two victims.

"Finally at 17.30 WIB the search effort was temporarily suspended, while the joint team returned to the SAR post at Kemiri Village Hall to evaluate and prepare an operation plan on Thursday (10/3) tomorrow," said Endang Sulistyoningsih.
