BOGOR - The Regency Government (Pemkab) of Bogor, West Java recorded a reduction in the number of unemployed in its area during 2021, which was 50,127 people.

"This is based on data from the Central Statistics Agency (BPS). This year the unemployment rate decreased very significantly, decreasing 2.07 percent, from 14.29 percent to 12.22 percent," said member of the Bogor Regency Development Acceleration Team, Saepudin Muhtar alias Gus Udin in Cibinong, Bogor, reported by Antara, Monday, March 7.

He mentioned that the number of unemployed was originally recorded at 390,7321 people in 2020, in 2021 the number was reduced by 50,127 people, bringing it to 340,604 people.

According to Gus Udin, referring to BPS data, the decline in the unemployment rate in Bogor Regency this year is the highest compared to other cities/regencies in West Java.

He said this condition was the result of various efforts made by the Bogor Regency Government (Pemkab) under the leadership of Regent Ade Yasin in carrying out economic recovery due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

One of them is by revamping the job search system called the Bogor Career Center (BCC), through the Manpower Office. The system, which has existed for several years, has optimized its function by cooperating with the Indonesian Employers' Association (Apindo) and human resource development (HRD) in various companies to provide job opportunities.

This is because there was a spike in the unemployment rate in Bogor Regency last year as much as 5.23 percent, from 9.06 percent to 14.29 percent.

This condition has implications for increasing the poverty rate in Bogor Regency, from 6.66 percent in 2019, increasing to 7.69 percent in 2020.
