Police Investigate Stabbing Case That Killed 4 People In Kediri

KEDIRI - Police officers from the Kediri Resort, East Java, handled a case of a stabbing by a resident in Pojok Village, Wates District, Kediri Regency, which resulted in 10 injuries and four of them died.

Head of Criminal Investigation Unit of the Kediri Police, AKP Rizkika Atmadha Putra, said that at first the members received information about the case of abuse that resulted in the death of the person.

"Earlier we received information in the Wates Subdistrict area, allegations of abuse that resulted in people's death. Until now, we are still working," he said in Kediri, as reported by Antara, Monday, March 7.

The perpetrator is known to have the initials R, a resident of Bangunmulyo Hamlet, Pojok Village, Wates District, Kediri Regency.

From information, the perpetrator initially had a check with the family and then suddenly brought caring and slashed the residents he met. In fact, there are relatives who are also victims.

In that incident, 10 people became victims and four of them died. Meanwhile, six other people are still being treated in hospital.

"So, while the data we got there are 10 victims in total. Three people died in the place, one in the hospital. Meanwhile, we are still updating some of the victims who have been hospitalized," he said.

They are still investigating the motive behind the act. Until now, the police are still gathering information from witnesses.

"We are still investigating the motive, because the person concerned still doesn't want to talk about it. We have detained the perpetrators together with members of the police station," he said.

A number of the perpetrator's neighbors are still traumatized by the incident. Surya, one of the neighbors, said that after doing his actions, he fled and returned home.

Residents who knew did not even dare to enter the house, because they were still worried. Several other residents are also still working together to save injured residents. "No one dared to enter. After the police arrived, he was taken into custody," said Surya.

Meanwhile, a number of houses including the perpetrator's house were also lined with police. At the perpetrator's house, a motorbike was also seen parked inside the house and there was a place for selling vegetables. Residents said the perpetrators had been working odd jobs.
