Supermoto Bikers Say They Don't Know If They Enter Toll Roads, Ticketed By Police And Motorcycles Are Arrested

JAKARTA - A total of 21 supermoto bikers who dared to cross the JORR Pulogebang-Kelapa Gading Toll Road, East Jakarta received a ticket from the Traffic Directorate of the Metro Jaya Police.

"We have taken action with a ticket," said the Head of Sub-Directorate for Law Enforcement, Traffic Directorate, Metro Jaya Police, Grand Commissioner Adjutant Jamal Alam when contacted, Monday, March 7.

Grand Commissioner Adjutant Jamal said his party was rewarding the supermoto riders, namely Article 287 Paragraph 1 of the LLAJ Law No. 22 of 2009 with a maximum penalty of 2 months imprisonment and or a maximum fine of IDR 500 thousand.

Currently, the 21 supermoto vehicles of various brands are being detained at the Sub-Directorate General of Law and Human Rights of the Metro Jaya Police, Pancoran, South Jakarta.

"While currently, we are holding the vehicle based on law enforcement procedures, we are securing it at the Sub-Directorate of Law Enforcement of Traffic Directorate of Metro Jaya Police," he said.

From the results of vehicle identification, he continued, it was known that there were 28 people involved in the incident, but only 21 vehicles were confiscated because there were several people riding in the car.

The drivers were also given guidance by the Sub-Directorate of Law Enforcement of Traffic Directorate of Metro Jaya Police and have made a statement not to repeat their actions.

"The person concerned, based on the agreement of the club's friends, has made a statement not to commit the same offense," he said.

Meanwhile, the Head of the PJR of Traffic Directorate of Metro Jaya Police, Commissioner of Police Sutikno admitted that his party would increase security at toll entrances, especially for toll access where there was no prior transaction. This is a follow-up to the number of motorbikes entering the toll road.

"After the incident, I ordered my members to increase security, especially for access to toll roads where there is no transaction," said Commissioner of Police Sutikno.

He appealed to people who ride motorbikes at night with their clubs to always obey the signs.

"Supermoto club, if I'm not mistaken. I urge these brothers and sisters to always obey the existing signs, if there are signs in front of all of you, don't violate them, but obey traffic rules," he said.

Meanwhile, the representative of the Jabodetabek Otomotif Supermoto Lovers Community, Reza, apologized for breaking through the toll road so that it went viral on social media. According to Reza, the riding activity which ended controversially was not planned.

They only do night rides or regular night rides. In addition, unintentionally, the motorists enter the toll road. Including when taking videos, the participants did not realize that they were on the toll road because of the quiet conditions.

Previously, the Supermoto group caused a stir on social media when they crossed the Kelapa Gading-Pulogebang Toll Road on Saturday, February 26, early in the morning.

From the information in the video, the incident occurred on Saturday, February 26, at around 03.00 western Indonesia time. They are suspected to have entered through the toll gate near the Cakung Market T-junction, East Jakarta.
