Mimika Hospital Prepares 12 Officers For Scavenging Victims Of The Papuan KKB Massacre In West Beoga District

MIMIKA - Mimika Regency Regional General Hospital (RSUD), Papua has prepared 12 officers to carry out examinations and post-mortem of the bodies of PT Palapa Timur Telematika (PTT) employees who were massacred by armed gangs in Kampung Jenggeran, West Beoga District, Puncak Regency.

Public Relations of Mimika Hospital, Lucky Mahakena, said the recruitment team of eight PTT employees consisted of four doctors assisted by several nurses.

"In principle, we are ready at Mimika Hospital. Since last night we have continued to coordinate with the TNI-Polri Team to prepare a plan to evacuate the bodies of the victims to Mimika Hospital. As soon as we arrive at the Mimika Hospital mortuary, we will conduct an examination as well as a post-mortem by the officers," Lucky said. in Timika, Antara, Sunday, March 6.

According to the initial plan, he said, the evacuation of the bodies of eight PTT employees from the location where they were killed at Camp BTS 3 of the East Palapa Ring Project, Jenggeran Village, West Beoga District, Puncak Regency to Timika was carried out this Sunday morning.

However, the activity was postponed due to weather conditions that did not allow helicopters to reach the location in the highlands of Papua.

"The official information we received from the TNI-Polri was that today's evacuation could not be carried out due to weather constraints. It is planned to continue tomorrow morning," said Lucky.

Various preparations continue to be made by the Mimika Hospital and the TNI-Polri at the hospital morgue. Lucky said the PTT company had provided eight coffins at the Mimika Hospital morgue.

As for performing the burial and post-mortem for the bodies of eight PTT employees, two tables have been prepared in the morgue of the Mimika Hospital, where each table will have six officers, including two doctors.

Several members of the Sunda Community in Mimika Regency also visited the morgue of the Mimika Hospital on Sunday morning.

Asep, a Sundanese community leader in Mimika, said that three Sundanese were victims of the KKB massacre in Puncak Regency, namely Jamaludin, Bili Galdi Balion and Ibo. All three are Sundanese from Bandung, Subang and Lebak.

"We received information from the Mimika Kodim that there were three Sundanese PTT employees who were victims. So as administrators of the Mimika Sunda Community, we came to Mimika Hospital, hopefully the evacuation process for the victims will run smoothly," said Asep.

Eight PTT employees with their respective identities, namely Bona Simanulang, Renal Pastia Tagasye, Bili Galdi Balion, Jamaludin, Sharil Nurdiansyah, Eko Septiansyah, Bebei Tabuni and Ibo were confirmed to have died after the camp they were in was visited by around 10 KKB members on Wednesday, March 2 in the morning around 03.00 WIT.

The KKB gang immediately entered the camp with sharp tools such as machetes, axes, and even carrying firearms and killed eight PTT employees who were fast asleep.

One survivor, Nelson Sarira, was successfully evacuated to Timika on Saturday, March 5 at noon by the Cartenz Peace Operation Team.
