TIMIKA - The Cartenz 2022 Peace Operations Task Force team evacuated an employee of PT Palapa Timur Telematika (PTT) who survived the shooting by the Armed Criminal Group (KKB) in Beoga District, Puncak Regency to Timika, Mimika Regency, Papua.
The Head of Peace Operations for Cartenz 2022, Kombes Muhamad Firman, directly led the evacuation process of the PT PTT employee named Nelson Sarira using a helicopter flight directly from Beoga.
"This morning Ops Damai Cartenz personnel managed to evacuate one shooting victim from PTT. The synergy between TNI-Polri personnel was deployed and succeeded in evacuating victims," said Kombes Firman, quoted by Antara, Saturday, March 5.

Arriving in Timika, the victim was immediately taken to the Mimika Police Headquarters for further medical treatment.
The condition of the victim is reported to be quite stable and still requires a recovery process in order to be questioned regarding the whereabouts of his colleagues who were reported to have been victims of shooting by KKB in Beoga District on Wednesday (2/3).
Eight PTT employees are known to have died after being shot by a group of KKB while working on the Based Transceiver System (BTS) for the East Palapa Ring project.
The evacuation of the victims who died until this Saturday could not be carried out, because of the weather and difficult terrain.
