LEBAK - Residents of victims of movable land in Lebak Regency, Banten Province are now vacating their settlements because their houses are cracked and they are feared that they will collapse, causing casualties.

"We were forced to demolish the house because the condition of the house is in danger of collapsing due to moving ground", said Juli (58), a resident of Cihuni, Curugpanjang Village, Cikulur District, Lebak Regency, as reported by Antara, Thursday, March 3.

People who live in the settlements of Cihuni Curugpanjang Village, Lebak Regency have emptied because they are afraid of the house building collapsing.

"Current conditions are still adding to the increased rainfall and almost every day it is hit by rain with moderate and heavy intensity accompanied by strong winds", she said.

The local people, continued Juli, are now leaving their settlements and living in refugee camps.

"We are now demolishing the house and will be staying at a relative's house", she said.

Meanwhile, the Head of RT 02/RW 09 Cihuni, Curugpanjang Village, Lebak Dayat Regency, said that the people affected by the movable land disaster in his area were 43 houses, 48 families, and 174 people.

In addition, public facilities such as mosques, Taklim assemblies, and MTs Ar-Ribathiyah, even three classes of madrasa study rooms collapsed, he said.

Nia (45), a resident of Curugpanjang, Lebak Regency, admitted that her house was now badly damaged by the movement of the ground, so she was forced to live with her parents, whose location was safe from the movement of the ground.

"We want to be relocated as soon as possible to a safer place", she explained.

Meanwhile, the Head of the Emergency and Logistics Section of the Lebak Regional Disaster Management Agency, Agus Reza Faisal, said that his party supports the community to vacate settlements in the movable land disaster area, especially with high rainfall.

The evacuation of the settlement was to prevent houses from collapsing and landslides also occurred.

"We advise residents of land disaster victims to move temporarily to stay in refugee camps", he explained.
