Anies Recalled The Word 'farewell' For The DKI Regional Secretary Before He Died

JAKARTA - DKI Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan remembers the word 'goodbye' which was conveyed by the Regional Secretary (Sekda) of DKI Saefullah a few days before he passed away.

At that time, Saefullah, according to Anies, asked permission to leave the plenary meeting at the DKI DPRD building on Monday, September 7. Saeful was about to go home because he was not feeling well.

"On Monday last week, in the middle of the DPRD plenary session, Mr. Saefullah sent a text, 'Sir, I ask for permission to leave because he is not feeling well'," said Anies while paying his final respects to the Regional Secretary at the City Hall of DKI, Central Jakarta, Wednesday, September 16th.

Saefullah, continued Anies, never asked permission to leave while working because of illness.

"In his experience with the Regional Secretary, he never gave permission to say goodbye because of illness," said Anies.

In Anies's memory, Secretary Saefullah went the extra mile for the 6 months of the COVID-19 pandemic. Therefore Anies asked all parties to pray that Saefullah's acts of worship would be accepted by Allah SWT.

"Insyaallah Pak Secretary Husnul Khotimah," he said.

"Everything he has done in Jakarta, God willing, will become a record of pious deeds, a record of amal Jariyah, which will deliver merits endlessly," Anies continued.

DKI Secretary Saefullah died of COVID-19 at the Gatot Subroto Army Hospital (RSPAD) today at 12.55 WIB.

Before he died, Saefullah experienced irreversible sepsis shock with ARDS for patients with confirmed COVID-19.

This situation is a severe respiratory distress or respiratory failure caused by a buildup of fluid in the air sacs in the lungs.

Initially, Saefullah admitted that he was not feeling well and was undergoing treatment at the MMC Hospital, South Jakarta since September 8, 2020. Saefullah was then declared infected with COVID-19.

On September 13, Saefullah was in critical condition and needed oxygen. He was transferred to be treated on an incentive basis at the Gatot Subroto Central Army Hospital (RSPAD), Central Jakarta.

It is planned that Saefullah's body will be buried according to the COVID-19 protocol in the family burial ground in Rorotan, North Jakarta.

Saefullah has served as the Regional Secretary of the DKI Jakarta Province since July 17, 2014. Previously, this 56-year-old man served as Mayor of Central Jakarta in 2008-2014.
