Hundreds Of Health Workers In Bantul Exposed To COVID-19

BANTUL - Bantul Regency Health Office, Yogyakarta Special Region, stated that hundreds of health workers both serving in community health centers, hospitals, and local government agencies were confirmed exposed to COVID-19.

"For Human Resources does make us extra because, in addition to many cases, our human resources are also many positively confirmed", said Head of Bantul Health Office Agus Budi Rahardjo in Bantul, Wednesday, March 2.

According to him, based on data on COVID-19 Bantul cases as of March 1, 2022, for Panembahan Senopati Hospital (RSPS) Bantul nurses who confirmed positive more than 50 people, then coupled with other personnel numbered about 80 people.

Then in the office of Health Office Bantul itself, he continued, there are at least 20 employees who are currently confirming COVID-19, even confirmation cases in government agencies continue to be found alternately.

"In the Puskesmas (public health center), there are quite a lot of around 205 positive people spread over 27 Puskesmas, all Puskesmas must be there, nothing is 'zero', there must be, at the Health Office and Panembahan Senopati Hospital, it is the replacement for those who are positive for COVID-19,", he said.

He said because many health workers were exposed, especially at the Puskesmas, health services to the community were adjusted by reducing face-to-face or offline services and maximizing services in the network.

"We give autonomy to our Community Health Centers to adjust services, for example, offline community services are reduced, the schedule is divided, breaks must also be arranged when finished then take care of health in the afternoon", he said.

He also said that there were services for delivery at several Puskesmas that were forced not to open services, because not a few midwives had positive confirmations.

Based on data, the total number of COVID-19 cases in Bantul since the beginning of the pandemic until March 1 has accumulated 66,715 people, with a recovery rate of 58,382 people, while the number of deaths was recorded at 1,601 people, bringing the number of active cases or those still in isolation to 6,732 people.
