JAKARTA - The Central Jakarta City Government (Pemkot) Internal Security (Pamdal) Shally Rahayu became a victim of a hit-and-run on Jalan Letjen Suprapto, Kemayoran, Central Jakarta, Monday, February 28, evening. The incident occurred at around 19.30 WIB, in front of RH Mie Aceh, Kemayoran, Central Jakarta. Shally reportedly died from his injuries.

Head of Traffic at the Central Jakarta Metro Police, Kompol Purwanta, said that his party received a report of the accident at 20.30 WIB. At that time, it was known that Shally was being ridden by R. Dommy using a motorcycle with the number B 6080 SRD. The Shally crasher reportedly fled at the time of the incident.

The woman, a resident of Utan Panjang, was taken to the Cipto Mangun Kusumo Hospital (RSCM) after the incident occurred. But his life could not be saved.

"Before the accident occurred, the motorbike driven by R Dommy and Shally was traveling from West to East, Jalan Letjen Suprato, Kemayoran. Then there was an explosion with another vehicle that fled. The police number for the crasher was unknown," said Kompol Purwanta when contacted by VOI, Tuesday, March 1. .

From the results of a temporary investigation, the Central Jakarta Metro Police Traffic Unit suspects that the cause of the accident was due to negligence or carelessness of the driver.

"When driving a vehicle on a public road, the vehicle driven by R Dommy changed lanes or moved to the left. It is suspected that he did not observe the traffic situation on the left and back of the vehicle, resulting in a traffic accident," said Purwanta.

"Evidence was secured and officers made a sketch of the scene," he said.

Central Jakarta Deputy Mayor Irwandi confirmed that a Pamdal officer died after an accident on Jalan Letjen Suprapto, Kemayoran.

"Yes, yes, that was my former secretary. That's Pamdal, he's Pamdal. Accident on a motorbike, collision. It's a blessing, it's about to be buried," Irwandi told reporters, Tuesday, March 1.
