COVID-19 Update As Of February 28: New Cases 25,054, Recovered 43,992

JAKARTA - The Ministry of Health released the latest additional positive cases of COVID-19 as of today. The cumulative total of cases stands at 5,564,448 since the first cases were announced on March 2. Meanwhile, new cases per day reached 25,054 people.

Meanwhile, the number of recovered cases today increased by 43,992, bringing the total to 4,861,415 recovered. Meanwhile, the positive confirmed cases who died increased by 262 people and a total of 148,335 people.

Meanwhile, the province with the newest cases is DKI Jakarta with 7,300 new cases and a total of 1,174,839 cases. Consists of 7,021 local transmissions and 279 foreign travel agents (PPLN).

Followed by West Java with 3,745 new cases and a total of 1,003,743 cases. It consists of 3,719 local transmissions and 26 PPLN.

Then, Central Java had 2,905 new cases and a total of 576,532 cases. Consists of 2,905 local transmissions and 0 PPLN.

Next is East Java with 2,233 new cases and a total of 533,412 cases recorded. Consists of 2,225 local transmissions and 8 PPLN.

The province with the most recovered cases today is DKI Jakarta with an increase of 11,384 cases. Then, followed by Central Java with 6,127 recovered cases. Then, West Java 5,858 cases, Banten 4,773, and East Java 4,622 cases were recovered.

"The highest death cases are in DKI Jakarta with 55 people. Followed by East Java 54, Central Java 41, West Java 16, DI Yogyakarta 15, and Bali 14", as quoted from Ministry of Health data, Monday, February 28.

In addition, the number of specimens that have been examined per day is 276,215. Meanwhile, cumulatively it reached 56,247,315. As for the details, 21,607,358 were examined by RT-PCR, 236,968 by the TMC method, and 34,402,989 people with antigen.

"For the number of people suspected of contracting COVID-19 or currently categorized as suspected cases, it is recorded at 12,782 people", it said.

Then, the weekly positivity rate for people from February 20 to 26, 2022 is 17.75 percent. Meanwhile, the daily positivity rate for people is 18.21 percent.

Currently, there are no additions to people who have received the first dose of COVID-19 vaccination and the total has reached 190,672,557 people, and there is no addition to the second dose of vaccination, the cumulative total is 143,778,623 people. Then there was no additional vaccination for the third dose and the total reached 9,809,784. Meanwhile, the vaccination target was 208,265,720 people.
