JAKARTA - Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal and Security Affairs (Menko Polhukam) Mahfud MD has signaled that the determination of the status of suspect Nurhayati, the reporter for the alleged corruption of APBDes funds in Cirebon will be stopped.

Mahfud admitted that he had communicated with the National Police and the Attorney General's Office regarding the termination of Nurhayati's suspect status. In fact, he also communicated with the Criminal Investigation Police to be carried out as soon as possible.

"Nurhayati, God willing, I have communicated with the two institutions so that a solution can be found immediately," he said in a virtual press statement, Sunday, February 27.

Furthermore, Mahfud explained that the revocation of the suspect status of Nurhayati was expected to give a message to the public not to be afraid to report corruption cases.

"So that people dare to report. In accordance with the President's recommendation to the whole community, to have the courage to report if someone is suspected of committing corruption and there is sufficient evidence," he said.

Even so, Mahfud emphasized that the alleged corruption case of the Citemu Village Head (Kades) Supriyadi reported by Nurhayati would continue. The case continues even though Nurhayati's suspect status is revoked.

"Meanwhile, the village head is still a suspect because he was reported and already has sufficient evidence," he explained.

In addition, Mahfud said there were two ways to revoke Nurhayati's suspect status. The first way, said Mahfud, is the issuance of an Order for Termination of Investigation (SP3) and a Decision Letter on Termination of Prosecution (SKP2).

"God willing, it will be done soon, it's just a matter of technicality," he said.

Furthermore, Mahfud said that the SP3 mechanism was carried out by the Prosecutor's Office returning the case files to the Police. Then the Police will issue the SP3.

Meanwhile, Mahfud continued, the second way is for the Prosecutor's Office to state that this case cannot be continued by issuing SKP2. According to Mahfud, both ways can be done.

"What is important now is the spirit conveyed by President Jokowi so that people dare to report if there is corruption. So that we don't make it difficult for people to report being afraid," he said.

"Because it was too late, it was deemed to have allowed, participated, harmed the state because he allowed it or because for example he did not report it to the police or the Prosecutor's Office but reported through the village consultative body. So then he was examined as a witness, then named a suspect for allowing up to two years, for example," he continued. .
