COVID-19 Update As Of February 26: 46,643 Positive Cases Found, Mostly West Java

JAKARTA - The Ministry of Health (Kemenkes) released the latest additional positive cases of COVID-19 as of today. Of the 491,130 specimens examined, 46,643 confirmed cases of COVID-19 were found.

"The total accumulation of positive cases since COVID-19 was discovered in Indonesia has reached 5,504,418 people and active cases have increased by 4,850 cases to 578,535 cases," said Ministry of Health data, Saturday, February 26.

Today's recovered cases increased by 41,805 cases, bringing the total to 4,778,039 recovered people. Then, the positive confirmed cases who died increased by 258 people, bringing the total to 147,844 people.

From the Ministry of Health's data, it was recorded that the province with the most new positive cases was West Java with 9,778 cases. With this addition, the total is 993,540 cases.

Followed by Central Java Province with 5,623 cases and East Java which recorded 5,413 positive cases.

Then, DKI Jakarta also recorded the addition of 4,675 new cases. So that the cumulative total in Jakarta is 1,163,582 cases.

Meanwhile, the province with the most recovered cases today is in West Java with an increase of 12,293 cases. Followed by East Java with an additional 6,238 cases recovered. Furthermore, DKI Jakarta Province with 5,729 cases recovered.

On the other hand, the Ministry of Health also noted that the number of specimens that had been examined using RT-PCR, TCM, and antigens reached 83,933,900.

"Positive results per number of people examined or the positivity rate of people this week was 18.92 percent," he wrote.

The number of people suspected of contracting COVID-19 or currently categorized as suspected cases is 36,030 people. Currently, 34 provinces have had cases of COVID-19.

So far, 190,672,288 people have received the first dose of COVID-19 vaccination and 143,774,691 people have received the second dose of vaccination.

While the third dose of COVID-19 vaccination was 9,809,490. Meanwhile, the target for vaccination in Indonesia is 208,265,720 people.
