Survey: 75 Percent Of Airplane Passengers Still Want To Travel Despite PSBB

JAKARTA - PT Angkasa Pura II (Persero) estimates that the Jakarta PSBB will not have a significant impact on the number of aircraft passenger movements at Soekarno-Hatta Airport.

However, in order to find out more about the response of aircraft passengers to the implementation of this PSBB, PT Angkasa Pura II conducted a survey at the end of last week, or Friday, September 11, 2020, starting at 10.00-19.00 WIB at Soekarno-Hatta Airport.

PT Angkasa Pura II President Director Muhammad Awaluddin hopes that the survey held will provide an overview of the interest of airplane passengers to travel from Soekarno-Hatta Airport when the PSBB is re-implemented in Jakarta.

The survey was conducted using the dipstick survey method with open questions to get information quickly about certain issues from respondents. The respondents were 111 passengers at Soekarno-Hatta Airport.

"From the survey conducted, PT Angkasa Pura II and stakeholders can take the necessary steps so that airport operations and flights run smoothly while still prioritizing health aspects," Awaluddin said in his written statement, Monday, September 14.

The following are the results of a survey that was held after the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government announced the implementation of the PSBB starting September 14, 2020. First, the majority of respondents, namely 88 percent, have been informed that the PSBB will be implemented again in Jakarta.

Meanwhile, there are still respondents who do not know (5 percent) and also do not follow developments (7 percent).

"Quite a number of respondents already know about the implementation of this PSBB, in the sense that maybe they already have various preparations including those related to travel by plane," Awaluddin said.

Then the majority of respondents, namely up to 75 percent, admitted that they would not cancel their plan to travel by plane and would still travel.

Meanwhile, there were also respondents who would re-plan flights (19 percent) and cancel flights (6 percent).

"The majority of respondents still believe in flying, either according to schedule or re-planning the flight schedule. This gives a signal that the implementation of the Jakarta PSBB has no significant impact on the movement of aircraft passengers," Awaluddin added.

Furthermore, thirdly, the majority of respondents, namely 89 percent believe that Soekarno-Hatta has implemented a health protocol that supports the DKI Jakarta PSBB, while there are respondents who stated that they are not suitable (9 percent) and stated that they are not at all (2 percent)

Finally, the fourth is that the Jakarta PSBB is estimated to have influenced the flight plan, in which 62 percent of the respondents stated this. Influencing the intended flight plan can be related to the duration of the trip, the number of people traveling, the destination of the flight and so on.

Meanwhile, there were respondents who stated that the Jakarta PSBB had no effect on flight plans (23 percent) and it was normal (15 percent).
