Jokowi Asks Permanaker Regarding JHT To Be Revised, PAN: President Doesn't Want To Have Polemics During The Pandemic

JAKARTA - The PAN faction of the DPR RI appreciates President Joko Widodo's quick response to the request for the Minister of Manpower Ida Fauziyah to revise the Old Age Security (JHT) regulations. This is because this has recently been voiced by workers and trade unions.

The chairman of the PAN faction of the DPR RI, Saleh Partaonan Daulay, assessed that Jokowi's response was indicated because the president did not want the JHT polemic to continue during the pandemic. Saleh hopes that the regulations issued later can accommodate the voices and interests of workers and workers.

"As usual, the president immediately responded. The president doesn't seem to want to have a polemic about this JHT. It's only natural, because there is a lot of work to be done during this pandemic," Saleh told reporters in Jakarta, Tuesday, February 22.

The member of Commission IX of the DPR also hopes that the Ministry of Manpower can immediately revise the Minister of Manpower Regulation Number 2 of 2022 so that there is legal certainty in the management of JHT funds. In addition, said Saleh, of course, to carry out the president's directive so that the disbursement of JHT funds is facilitated.

"The Permenaker must be revoked immediately. Otherwise, it will be effective. This is certainly not in line with the expectations of many parties," said Saleh.

On the other hand, the legislator for the North Sumatra electoral district assessed that BPJS Ketenagakerjaan needed to immediately adjust the implementation of the program in accordance with the president's directives. This means that BPJS Employment should wait for the latest policy. Of course, said Saleh, the policies were adapted to the president's directives and the aspirations of the workers.

"BPJS should not move just yet. There is still enough time to consolidate rules and programs," said Saleh.

Previously, President Joko Widodo ordered the Minister of Manpower Regulation No. 2 of 2022 regarding the disbursement of the Old Age Security (JHT) that it could only be done after the age of 56 was revised.

Jokowi has also summoned the Coordinating Minister for the Economy, Airlangga Hartarto and the Minister of Manpower, Ida Fauziyah to immediately carry out his instructions.

"(The President) ordered that the procedures and requirements for paying JHT be simplified, made easy, so that JHT funds can be taken by individual workers who are going through difficult times, especially those experiencing layoffs," said Pratikno.

According to Pratikno, the Head of State hears and understands the objections of the workers regarding the JHT regulation which can only be disbursed at the age of 56 years.

"The regulations will be further regulated in the revision of the Minister of Manpower regulations or other regulations," added Pratikno.
