Tomorrow Anies Explains Total PSBB, Regulations Are Still Being Finalized

JAKARTA Governor of DKI Jakarta Anies Baswedan said that the policy for large-scale social restrictions (PSBB) will be announced tomorrow, Sunday, September 13. Because the regulations related to its implementation are still being drafted.

"Tomorrow we will announce it because tonight the regulations are being finalized," Anies told reporters, Saturday, September 12.

The announcement of the total implementation of the PSBB, said Anies, must be based on clear regulations. Later, the implementation of the PSBB will certainly affect other buffer areas such as West Java and Tangerang.

"So later when we announce that it is in the form of a regulation with articles, there are detailed details so that there will be no different interpretations," he said.

Anies Baswedan officially "hit the emergency brake" which revoked the transitional PSBB policy and reinstated the total PSBB.

"By looking at this emergency situation in Jakarta, there is no other choice but to decide to pull the emergency brake. This means that we are forced to apply the PSBB just like the beginning of the pandemic. This is the emergency brake that we must draw," said Anies, Wednesday, September 9.

Anies' reason for making this decision for Jakarta was due to the three indicators that the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government really cares about, namely the death rate, the availability of isolation beds and special ICU for COVID-19 and the rate of positive cases in Jakarta.
