SOLO - Mayor of Surakarta Gibran Rakabuming Raka intensified socialization related to anticipating the emergence of dengue fever cases (DHF) in the community.

"I have instructed the head of the Health Office to be more intense in socializing with fogging, that is the most important thing," he said in Solo, as reported by Antara, Monday, February 21.

For areas with dengue fever, he instructed that fumigation be carried out immediately.

"It's dangerous, it's even more dangerous than COVID-19," he said.

Regarding the dengue case, he admitted that his second child, La Lembah Manah, also had the disease. However, now his condition has improved.

"It's getting better, never been sick before," he said.

In fact, for three days, namely Wednesday, Thursday and Friday last week, he focused on waiting for his son while he was being treated at the hospital.

"Dengue fever is dangerous when the temperature drops, it's always hot, when the body temperature drops people think it's healed. Even though it was a critical period, the platelets dropped. Regarding this, the Head of the Surakarta DKK, Siti Wahyuningsih, noted that so far there have been 13 cases of dengue fever in the city of Solo. However, it is confirmed that until now there have been no cases of death due to dengue fever.

"If it's acute, the point is that the community should not delay, if the heat doesn't get better, immediately contact the health facilities so that there are no delays," he said.

He said that for areas with dengue cases in Solo City, it was dominated by Mojosongo Village.

"There is also in Sumber (Gibran's residence, ed.)," he said.
