Task Force: COVID-19 Cases In Bantul Increase By 400 People In A Day

BANTUL - The Bantul Regency COVID-19 Task Force, Special Region of Yogyakarta, noted that confirmed cases of corona virus exposure increased by 400 people in a day, or the highest daily figure since cases continued to rise in the face of wave three due to the Omicron variant.

Data from the Bantul COVID-19 Task Force explained that the additional cases came from all 17 sub-districts in Bantul, with the three sub-districts having the most cases from Sewon with 65 people, followed by Banguntapan with 54 people, then Kasihan with 47 people.

Today's additional positive cases are accompanied by reports of confirmed cases of COVID-19 recovering as many as 81 people, from Kasihan 33 people, Sewon 28 people, Sedayu nine people, Banguntapan five people, Bantul three people, Imogiri two people, Jetis one person.

Meanwhile, there were two confirmed cases of COVID-19 who died in the last 24 hours, from Jetis and Kasihan.

With the development of daily cases, the cumulative total positive cases of COVID-19 in Bantul since the beginning of the pandemic until now has become 60,117 cases, with 56,182 people declared cured, while the total death cases recorded are 1,580 people.

Thus, the number of active COVID-19 cases or patients who are still infected and undergoing isolation or quarantine for healing in the Bantul area as of Thursday, February 17, is 2,355 people.

Bantul Regent Abdul Halim Muslih continues to remind the public to always be disciplined in implementing the COVID-19 prevention health protocol amidst the threat of the Omicron variant, and to always maintain the health of yourself and your family.

"Let's together break the chain of spreading COVID-19 by implementing a clean and healthy lifestyle (PHBS) and 5M, namely wearing masks, washing hands, maintaining distance, avoiding crowds, and reducing mobility," he said.
