Lampung Health Office To Strengthen Search And Test For COVID-19

BANDARLAMPUNG - The Lampung Provincial Health Office said it would strengthen COVID-19 tracing and testing to accelerate the discovery of new COVID-19 cases.

"Handling from upstream to downstream will continue because this is the key to handling cases", said Head of the Lampung Provincial Health Office, Reihana in Bandarlampung, quoted by Antara on Thursday, February 17.

He said that by continuing to carry out case tracking and periodic tests, there would be many daily positive confirmed cases of COVID-19.

"Every day there will definitely be more confirmed positive cases of COVID-19, this is not an obstacle because the sooner positive cases are found, the sooner they can be handled, which will prevent the spread of COVID-19", he said.

For patients who are positive for COVID-19, treatment will immediately be carried out to avoid a decline in the patient's condition.

"The most important thing is that after finding a positive case, all those who have symptoms similar to COVID-19 are immediately tested for an antigen swab and intervention will immediately be carried out so that the patient does not experience a fatal condition", he said.

According to him, the addition of COVID-19 cases in his area was found to be imported cases from outside the province.

"Because Lampung is the entrance between Sumatra and Java, so many cases of COVID-19 are found here, which are imported. So people are asked to adhere to health protocols", he said.

He continued, to prevent the spread of COVID-19, those who are in close contact with people exposed to COVID-19 must immediately quarantine.

"ASeveralintegrated isolation places have been prepared by the district/city Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) for patients or close contacts of cases", he said.
