JAKARTA - The Bogor City Education Office (Disdik), West Java revealed data that teachers and students who were exposed to COVID-19 from school clusters were increasing rapidly. For four days to 676 people, up 20.5 percent from 561 people in 31 schools.

"The number is getting higher, that's the data from the Health Service that we got," said Head of the Bogor City Education Office, Hanafi, Wednesday, February 16, as reported by Antara.

According to him, this figure is indeed high enough for a school environment so that the termination of face-to-face learning (PTM) by the Bogor City COVID-19 Task Force is quite appropriate.

He said that of the 676 teachers and students who were exposed, most of them were asymptomatic, namely 441 people, 178 people had mild symptoms, 36 people had moderate symptoms and 21 people had no known symptoms.

Disdik itself, said Hanafi, complied with the termination of PTM which will continue until next week as outlined in the Decree of the Mayor of Bogor, Bima Arya Sugiarto.

Previously, he added, the mayor said the decision to extend the PTM had been stated in the COVID-19 Task Force Decree number 03/STPC/02/2022 with five provisions given to education units, in line with the status of the implementation of level 3 community activity restrictions (PPKM) in Bogor City until next week.

The five provisions include the termination of PTM for all levels in the education unit (PAUD), kindergarten, elementary, junior high, high school or the equivalent, Islamic boarding schools, and other educational institutions in the city of Bogor by replacing the Distance Learning system (PJJ).

The elimination of student and teacher activities applies to both inside and outside the classroom, and non-essential office activities at schools are limited to only 25 percent of the allowed person capacity.

He added that the spread of COVID-19 that occurred in schools to date is still happening in 31 schools out of hundreds at all levels in Bogor City.

"The data is still in those schools, hopefully it won't go anywhere else," Hanafi said.
