Bobby Nasution Angry Finding Extortion On PIP Fund Aid At SDN Medan: Tomorrow The Money Must Be Returned

MEDAN - Medan Mayor Bobby Nasution discovered illegal levies (extortion) for the Smart Indonesia Program (PIP) funds at SD Negeri 060898, Jalan Katamso, Gang Balai Desa, Medan Maimun.

"At the latest, the money must be returned tomorrow," said Bobby to the principal of SD Negeri 060898 for the money that had been collected from the parents of students in Medan, North Sumatra, quoted by Antara, Wednesday, February 16.

This was disclosed by Bobby Nasution after receiving reports from parents receiving the PIP that he was asked by the school for IDR 20,000 to IDR 50,000 per student when reviewing the implementation of vaccinations for children aged 6-11 years at SD Negeri 060898 Medan.

The mayor of Medan also asked the head of the Education Office to monitor and track this levy by taking firm action against the related officials, after they returned the money collected.

To note, recipients of PIP funds who are students registered on the Smart Indonesia Card (KIP), including elementary/MI/equivalent students, amounting to IDR 450,000 per year.

"There are also students' parents who feel that there is no way to withdraw PIP funds, but it is out of their money accounts. We will investigate that," explained Bobby Nasution.

A few moments earlier, a number of parents came to the Mayor of Medan to complain about the school's request for transportation fees of Rp. 20,000 to Rp. 50,000 per student.

"We have no problem being asked for transportation money by the school principal, sir. It is impossible for the mother (the principal) not to be given, because we got PIP. We are all difficult people, sir," said Rini.

In addition, he continued, there were 29 students who were unable to disburse the PIP fund assistance, even though they had not yet taken the assistance from a bank account.

"Once it was taken, the aid was no longer there. From the information obtained, the PIP assistance had been returned to the central government," he said.
