OKU District Of South Sumatra Implements PPKM Level 3

OGAN KOMERING ULU - Ogan Komering Ulu (OKU) Regency, South Sumatra, has started implementing PPKM Level 3 following the increase in positive cases of COVID-19 in the region, which has now reached 125 cases.

"In line with the circular from the central government, OKU Regency is included in level 3 along with Palembang City and Prabumulih," said Ogan Komering Ulu (OKU) Regent's Daily Executive Edward Chandra in Baturaja, OKU, as reported by Antara, Wednesday, February 16.

Currently, local governments are starting to implement regulations according to the Minister of Home Affairs' instruction letter regarding regional regulations that are included in level three.

His party limits all activities from public service places to business place managers starting from opening hours of cafes, shopping centers and entertainment venues in accordance with government instructions to break the chain of spread of COVID-19.

"Only limited face-to-face learning can still be carried out. Meanwhile, 50 percent of the office workers have been employed, the rest are working from home (WFH)," said Edward.

In addition, his party also optimizes the supervision of health protocol enforcement in a number of crowded places in the area to ensure the procedures are implemented correctly. The OKU District COVID-19 Task Force Team will increase supervision of health protocols and are ready to provide social sanctions for people who violate them.

"Currently, the OKU Regency Government is coordinating with various parties and agencies to immediately release unexpected funds that have been prepared to prevent the spread of COVID-19, such as assistance to the community," he said.

Based on data as of February 14, 2022, OKU Regency recorded 1,077 positive cases, 109 died, 843 recovered and 125 people were still in self-isolation and hospitalized due to exposure to the corona virus.
