JAKARTA - General Election Commission (KPU) commissioner Evi Novida Ginting Manik tested positive for COVID-19. Evi is called positive COVID-19 without symptoms.

"Yes, that's right, Mrs. Evi is positive for COVID-19," said the Chairman of the Indonesian KPU Arief Budiman when contacted, Thursday, September 10.

Arief said, Evi was confirmed positive for COVID-19 after undergoing a swab test on Monday, September 7 yesterday. Evi's test results came out on Wednesday, September 9 and tested positive for the new coronavirus.

According to Arief, Evi is included in the category of COVID-19 cases without symptoms. "Positive but without symptoms. So, no pain, no fever, no cough, no colds, just nothing," said Arief.

Currently, Evi is undergoing independent isolation at home. During his isolation, Arief said that Evi was still working to participate in all KPU activities online.

In addition, today the KPU building, which is located on Jalan Imam Bonjol, Central Jakarta, is also sterilized using disinfectant liquid.

"Today's office will be sterilized tomorrow. The employees are asked to work from home," said Arief.

For information, Evi is a KPU commissioner who is assigned to the Technical Implementation Division. While undergoing the 2020 Pilkada stages in the current pandemic era, Evi has a crucial task.

He is in charge of coordinating the nomination of election participants, voting, counting votes, and recapitulating vote counts, determining results and documenting election and election results, as well as other technical activities.
